1.How to use the ETC system

2.Purchase OBE

ETC on-board equipment(OBE) is available at car dealers, car-accessory shops, and car maintenance shops.

  • It is the fastest way to install and set up at an ETC shop offering online setup system.
  • For maintaining the setup system necessary for OBE setup for the data storage and encryption of vehicle data of the user, ORSE charges the agency of ETC shops 525 yen for online-setup and 1,050 yen for offline-setup (tax included) per one setup task. The cost includes issuance of encrypted vehicle data for setup .The ETC shop will charge customers the cost of setup procedure, such as labor cost, internet connection fee, and the fee for depreciation of setup equipment , in addition to the fee for ORSE for the issuance of encrypted vehicle data for setup .
    Various support programs are available for purchasing the OBE.
  • Please contact your local ETC shop about your vehicle. There may be a problem when using OBE in the case that your car is equipped with the windshield that shields electronic wave used in ETC.
